Ghana U-20 forward Abdul Hakim Sulemana has shifted attention to their next match after posting a 1-1 draw in their opening AFCON U-20 tournament against DR Congo in Suez on Friday, May 2.
The Black Satellites went down early in the first courtesy Samuel Ntanda-Lukisa’s header before Aziz Musbau prodded home the equalizer on the 24th minute. Hakim Sulemana, who is the younger brother of Southampton winger Kamaldeen Sulemana, shared his thought on the game after he was adjudged Man-of-the-match.
“I think we came all out and it was just unfortunate we couldn’t capitalize on our chances so the next time we get an opportunity, we are going to use our chances wisely," said Sulemana after the draw against DR Congo.
Sulemana, 20, who has played seven times for Danish club, Randers FC this season but is yet to score, believes that, they need to take their scoring chances in the next game and defend well to secure all three points.
“I think the next match, every opportunity we get to score, we are going to use it. Every chance we get we have to score and defend well. The more you score, you defend well and you get the three points and then that is it,” offered Sulemana.
Ghana’s Group C is very open as all four clubs share one point after defending champions Senegal gave away a goal to draw 1-1 against Central African Republic on Friday, May 2. The Black Satellites will next play defending champions Senegal on Monday May 5 before facing Central African Republic three days later.
