Egypt U-20 national team coach Osama Nabih warned his players against complacency ahead of their second Group A match at the 2025 African U20 Nations Cup, where they will face Sierra Leone at the Suez Canal Authority Stadium. The hosts edged South Africa 1-0 in the opening game and look to secure another three points on Wednesday evening.
Nabih said Sierra Leone are a team that gives everything and must be handled with care. The head coach emphasized that his players should avoid any form of complacency, individualism, and recklessness.
Sierra Leone, who are debutants in the tournament, put up a strong performance against former champions Zambia. Nabih noted that he had watched footage of that game as Egypt aims to strengthen their position at the top of the group.
The hosts are expected to apply pressure on the debutants. Egypt is likely to field the same lineup that defeated South Africa in the opening match.
Egypt are three-time U20 AFCON champions with their last title coming in 2013.
