The semi-final match-up for the 2026 African Under-17 Nations Cup (AFCON) CECAFA Zone Qualifier has been confirmed after the conclusion of matchday 4.
Hosts Ethiopia, holders Uganda, Tanzania, and Kenya are the last four teams to battle it out this Sunday, November 30, at the Abebe Bikila Memorial Stadium.
Ethiopia wrapped up their group matches with a 1–0 win over Kenya. Dawit Kassaw scored the solitary goal of the match after the hour mark, following a good display from the hosts.
The Red Foxes topped Group A with ten points; Kenya qualified by being second with seven points. Somalia finished third with six points, narrowly missing out on qualification. South Sudan handed Rwanda a fourth straight defeat as they finished the qualifier on a high.
In Dire Dawa, Uganda put six past Djibouti to finish second in Group B with nine points, behind Tanzania. Brian Olwa struck a brace, with Thomas Ogema, Ukashsa Jemba, Arnold Kayemba, and Fahad Ismail getting the rest of the goals.
Ethiopia will play Uganda in the semi-final match-up. Tanzania will face Kenya in the other fixture. Both games will be hosted in Addis Ababa at the Abebe Bikila Stadium. The top three teams qualify for the 2026 U17 AFCON in Morocco.
