Firas Ben Larbi is on fire! Six days after the Tunisian attacking midfielder led Emirati club Sharjah to an inspiring comeback victory and a place in the final of the AFC Champions League 2, Ben Larbi continued his brilliance on Tuesday back in league play by assisting all four goals in Sharjah's 4-0 victory over Ajman Club.
Towards the end of the first half, Ben Larbi's corner kick found the head of Shahin Abdulrahman for the opening goal in the 39th minute. Five minutes later, Ben Larbi unselfishly assisted fellow North African international, Morocco's Adel Taarabt, for an easy finish to double Sharjah's lead by halftime.
In the 62nd minute, Luan Pereira benefited from good fortune when Ben Larbi's cross went off his face and into the goal. Ben Larbi finished his magical match with a slick touch to Majed Hassan who did the rest to finish off a decisive victory for the hosts.
Sharjah look set to qualify for Asian continental club competition again next season. They sit in second place on 44 points, eight points back of Al Ahli Dubai with six matches remaining. Former Etoile du Sahel star Ben Larbi, who moved to the UAE ahead of the 2020-21 season, now has 6 goals and 9 assists in 40 matches across all competitions.
