The 28-year-old, who joined Cruz Azul on Tuesday, is returning to familiar territory having previously played in Liga MX for Tigres UANL.
Kanu won the league Liga MX Femenil title with Tigres during her first season at the club, contributing 23 goals and six assists in 38 appearances during that title-winning campaign.
While her time at Racing Louisville was disrupted by injury, it still featured notable moments, such as the fastest brace in league history and a reputation as one of the club’s most dangerous forwards when fit.
Kanu is Cruz Azul’s sixth signing of the transfer window.
