Young Nigerian striker Uchenna Ogundu has been unveiled as the latest signing for German Bundesliga club FC Augsburg, arriving on the deadline of the January transfer window.

Ogundu, whose move was announced on Monday, joins the midtable Bundesliga side from Turkish Süper Lig side Alanyaspor on a permanent transfer that keeps him with the club until 2031.

The Bundesliga side acquired the services of the 19-year-old for a reported fee of €4.5 million.

The striker only joined Alanyaspor from Şanlıurfaspor last summer. During his short stint in Turkey, the teenager recorded two goals and one assist in seventeen appearances across all competitions.

Ogundu is joining a club that has been actively recruiting young international talent to transition from a “selling club” to a more competitive mid-table force. He is expected to begin training with the first team immediately to prepare for their upcoming league fixtures.
