Nigeria forward Cyriel Dessers was on the score sheet as Scottish powerhouse, Rangers made light work of Viktoria Plzen in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers.
France Youth international, Djeidi Hamara Gassama fired Rangers into the lead with a fine finish in just 15 minutes at the Ibrox Stadium on Tuesday.
Dessers set up Gassama in Viktoria’s penalty area with the 21-year-old winger curling in beautifully to beat the visiting goalkeeper, Florian Wiegele.
Rangers were awarded a penalty in the 42nd minute after Oliver Antman was brought down in the box by Lukáš Hejda of which Cyriel Dessers made no mistake in scoring from the spot to double the lead.
The Teddy Bears remained a mouthful for Viktoria in the second department of the match, causing discomfort in their half. Rangers wrapped up the game when Oliver Antman swept in a beautiful cross for the unmarked Djeidi Gassama to head in from close range in the 51st minute.
Rangers’ 3-0 win over Viktoria Plzen pushes them closer to the group stage of the UEFA Champions League with the return leg in the Czech Republic on Tuesday, August 12.
