UEFA Champions League: Osimhen hat-trick gives Galatasaray the win

Victor Osimhen bagged a hat-trick as Turkish giants Galatasaray secured a 3-0 victory at Ajax in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.

The first half saw Galatasaray take control of the game but they were unable to utilize their chances. However, after halftime their hard work paid off as Osimhen handed the Istanbul side the lead with a powerful header from a Leroy Sane cross in the 59th minute.

A few minutes later, Galatasaray were awarded a penalty with the Nigerian wasting no time to convert the chance before he completed his hat-trick by converting another spot kick in the 78th minute.

The victory is Galatasaray’s third win of the league phase and puts them in 9th position on the 36-team table with nine points from three matches.

The Super Eagles star now leads all scorers in the competition with six goals in three matches. Galatasaray will return to domestic league play on Sunday away at Kocaelispor. Their next Champions League match will be on November 25 at home against Belgian club Royal Union Saint-Gilloise.
