Olympique Lyonnais qualified for the quarterfinals of the UEFA Europa League in style on Thursday, thumping Romanian club FCSB 4-0 to clinch a decisive 7-1 aggregate victory.

Ernest Nuamah was at his best as the Ghanaian graduate of the Right to Dream Academy scored twice in the victory. Already ahead 3-1 after a first leg win in Romania, Georges Mikautadze put hosts Lyon ahead in the 14th minute before Nuamah doubled the lead in the 37th minute, receiving a pass from Mikautadze close to the goal before turning and finishing.

The match and the Round of 16 tie was well over by halftime but the dynamic duo of Mikautadze and Nuamah continued to dazzle. Mikautadze scored his second of the match early in the second half and a dejected FCSB defense could only watch late on as a brilliant team movement ended with Mikautadze crossing for Nuamah to finish first time.

Nuamah has been inconsistent this season, particularly in Ligue 1 play, but the 21-year-old continues to show signs of growth and progress. The Ghana national team forward now has 6 goals and 2 assists in 30 matches across all competitions.
