Uganda Cranes touch down in Cairo for World Cup qualifying preparations

The Uganda Cranes delegation, comprising locally-based players, arrived in Cairo, Egypt, on Saturday, 15th March 2025, to commence a training camp ahead of their crucial FIFA World Cup Qualifying matches against Mozambique and Guinea.

The local players who made the trip include Patrick Jonah Kakande, Abdul Karim Watambala, Enock Ssebaggala, Rogers Torach, Ronald Ssekiganda, Allan Okello, Joel Mutakubwa, Gavin Kizito, and Jude Ssemugabi.
The team will be housed at Tolip Gardens Hotel as they gear up for the upcoming encounters. Foreign-based players are expected to join the camp directly from their respective clubs.

Four of the nine group runners-up qualify for a playoff to determine Africa's representative at the intercontinental qualifying playoff.
Uganda will face Group G foes Mozambique on March 20 at the Cairo International Stadium before hosting Guinea on March 25 at the Mandela National Stadium in Namboole.
