Tapoh FC edged out Buhimba United Saints

At Masindi Stadium, KCCA FC underlined their pedigree with a controlled 2–0 success over St George Masindi FC, while BUL FC delivered the most emphatic statement of the day. The Eastern Giants swept aside Agape United FC Kotido 7–0 on the road, recording the biggest win of the opening round.

Stanbic Uganda Cup: Top-Flight Sides Set the Early Tone

The opening goal of the 2026 campaign came in eastern Uganda, where Mbarara City FC edged past Busia Youngstars FC 2–1 at Busia Integrated Primary School Ground. Though the margin was slim, the victory signaled Mbarara City’s determination to mount a serious cup run this season.

Defending their Premier League status, Vipers SC also progressed, grinding out a 1–0 win against Northern Gateway under the floodlights in Lira. It was not vintage football, but it was professional—exactly what knockout competitions demand.
