Former Uganda Cranes midfielder Mike Sserumaga is fighting for his health at Old Mulago Hospital after collapsing at his home. Medical reports indicate he suffered head trauma and circulation complications, which subsequently led to a stroke.

Specialists are currently working to stabilize him in intensive care. The football community has quickly mobilized to support Sserumaga during this critical period. Colleagues, fans, and friends have launched a financial appeal to help cover his escalating medical bills.

Earlier this year, Sserumaga made a surprise return to professional football by signing once more for Proline FC. His comeback followed impressive performances with Football Classroom, a team formed through a WhatsApp community, which competed in the 51st Stanbic Uganda Cup.

Throughout his illustrious career, Sserumaga showcased his talent at top clubs including KB Lions, SC Villa, Vipers SC, Police FC, URA FC, St. George in Ethiopia, Helsingborg in Sweden, and Rayon Sport of Rwanda.

On the international stage, he earned 34 caps for the Uganda Cranes, scoring six goals, and cementing his reputation as one of the most gifted midfielders of his generation. The football fraternity and the general public are now urged to come together to ensure Sserumaga receives the urgent care he needs.
