Uganda: Police FC bolster midfield with Saidi Kyeyune signing

Police FC have completed the signing of experienced midfielder Saidi Kyeyune on a two-year contract.

The former URA FC stalwart joins the Cops as a free agent following the expiration of his one-year deal with Express FC.

He becomes the latest addition to a growing squad as Police FC look to build a more competitive team for the upcoming Uganda Premier League season.

Kyeyune, a seasoned campaigner in Uganda’s top flight, featured in 28 of the 30 league games for Express last season, underlining his importance and durability in midfield. His arrival is expected to inject both experience and stability into Police FC’s engine room.

The Cops narrowly avoided relegation last term, finishing 11th on the table with 36 points, and the technical team is leaving nothing to chance as they seek a more convincing campaign this time around.

Kyeyune’s signing follows that of Benon Tahomera, a defender recruited from BUL FC, while goalkeeper Mathias Muwanga recently penned a new two-year deal to extend his stay with the club.

With these reinforcements, Police FC hope to re-establish themselves as a consistent mid-table side or better in the 2024/25 Uganda Premier League season.
