The StarTimes Uganda Premier League match day two rolls on this Thursday with two exciting clashes on the card—Police FC hosting Express at the Kiira Road Police Arena, while URA FC entertain NEC FC under the floodlights of Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo.
The evening will open with the Cops, champions in 2005, taking on the Red Eagles at 4pm. Matia Lule’s men were left frustrated on match day one after a 1-1 home draw against Mbarara City despite dominating proceedings.
They will be eager to turn possession into points and claim their first win of the campaign. Express, meanwhile, head into the tie buoyed by a narrow 1-0 win over UPDF at Nakivubo. Victory against Police would momentarily push the Red Eagles to the top of the early league standings.
Later at 8pm, focus will shift to Nakivubo where URA FC play their first home fixture of the season against NEC. The Tax Collectors began their campaign with a hard-fought goalless draw away to BUL and will be aiming for maximum points in front of their fans.
For NEC, the clash comes on the back of disappointment on the continent after bowing out of the CAF Confederation Cup at the hands of Nairobi United.
With their continental journey cut short, Hussein Mbalangu’s men will now channel full attention to domestic duty.
