Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League outfit Tusker have released nine players among them Ugandan Deogratious Ojok ahead of the new 2025/26 season.
A statement released by the club obtained by Pan-Africa Football, confirmed the latest development: “Tusker can confirm the departure of nine players following the expiry of their contracts with the club.
“John Byamukama, James Kibande, Luke Namanda, David Odoyo, Boban Zirintusa, Deogratious Ojok, Mike Oduor and Lawrence Luvanda will all leave with their contracts expiring. Meanwhile, defender Yussuf Mainge will also leave after his season-long loan spell from Kenya Police FC.”
Speaking on the decision to release the players, Tusker Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sam Nzau said: “We thank each of them for their service, commitment, and contributions during their time at Ruaraka. Their efforts have been integral to the team, both on and off the pitch, and they leave with our sincere gratitude.
He added; “As they embark on the next chapter of their professional journeys, we wish them the very best in their future endeavors.”
The decision comes after the club promoted two standout talents from its youth ranks, striker David Polepole and defender George Odhiambo to the senior team ahead of the upcoming FKF Premier League season.
Tusker have also managed to tie down defender Charles Momanyi a new contract that will see him remain at the club for one more season.
