Uganda striker Shaban Muhammad replaces Charles Bbaale at Gor Mahia

Uganda Cranes striker Shaban Muhammad has penned a two-year deal with Kenyan football heavyweights Gor Mahia FC, stepping in as a direct replacement for compatriot Charles Bbaale.

The 27-year-old forward jetted into Nairobi earlier this week and wasted no time linking up with his new teammates in training on Tuesday.

His arrival silences speculation of a dramatic return to KCCA FC, one of his former clubs in Uganda.
Shaban’s career path has seen him feature for top sides including Onduparaka FC, KCCA FC, Vipers SC, Raja Casablanca (Morocco), Al Hilal Benghazi (Libya), etc.

On the international stage, the striker has donned the Uganda Cranes jersey 26 times, finding the net on three occasions. At Gor Mahia, he is expected to inject firepower into the attack while carrying on the club’s rich tradition of embracing East African talent.

Shaban now follows in the footsteps of several Ugandan stars who left their mark in the iconic green and white, among them Khalid Aucho, Dan Muzeyi Sserunkuma, Shafik Kagimu, Godfrey Walusimbi, Juma Balinya, Rogers Mugisha, Innocent Wafula, and the man he replaces—Charles Bbaale.
