Uganda Cranes forward Jude Ssemugabi has sealed a move to South Sudan Premier League outfit Jamus SC, bringing an end to weeks of speculation about his future.

The former Kitara FC striker was officially unveiled on Friday in Juba, with the club releasing a warm statement to welcome their new signing:

“Ladies and gentlemen, please join us in giving a warm welcome to our superstar, Jude Ssemugabi, who arrived in Juba this afternoon! We’re thrilled to announce that Jude will begin his first training session with Jamus SC after tomorrow, as we prepare for the upcoming match against Al-Hilal of Sudan. His skills and talent will undoubtedly be a great addition to our team. Let’s show Jude love and support as he embarks on this exciting journey with us.”

Ssemugabi’s transfer concludes a saga that had linked him with Uganda Premier League giants Vipers SC and KCCA FC, while Singapore-based Brunei DPMM FC also showed serious interest earlier in July.

On the international stage, the forward has impressed for Uganda. He scored in the Cranes’ 3-3 thriller against South Africa at the delayed African Nations Championship (CHAN) and was also on target in the 2-0 victory over Somalia during the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers.

At club level, besides his stint at Kitara FC, Ssemugabi previously turned out for Kiboga Young and featured in the prestigious Buganda Masaza Cup with Ssingo. He was instrumental in Ssingo’s 2018 Masaza Cup triumph, finishing as tournament top scorer with eight goals.

Jamus SC has been active in the transfer market, with Ssemugabi joining a list of new arrivals that includes Hassan Wasswa Dazo, Jaffar Kerepi, Martin Otwao, Ezra Bida, Rashid Okocha, and goalkeeper Richard Anyama.
