Ugandan internationals Fahad Bayo Aziz and Musa Ramathan have officially joined North Macedonian topflight outfit FK Vardar, further strengthening the club’s squad with their experience and quality.
The pair spent the second half of the previous season turning out for Welwolo Adigrat University FC in the Ethiopian Premier League.
Their switch to North Macedonia will also see them reunite with fellow Uganda Cranes international Rogers Kassim Mato, who is already part of the Vardar setup.
Bayo and Ramathan are no strangers to each other, having previously played side by side at MFK Vyskov in the Czech Republic’s second division.
The towering striker Bayo has enjoyed a colorful career that has taken him across several leagues, featuring for Proline FC, Vipers SC, Buildcon (Zambia), Ashdod FC and Bnei Sakhnin (Israel) before his recent Ethiopian stint.
Meanwhile, defender Ramathan rose through the ranks at the KCCA Soccer Academy before breaking into the senior KCCA FC side. His impressive displays later earned him a move to the MLS Next Pro League with FC Cincinnati II, prior to his Ethiopian adventure.
FK Vardar, who represented North Macedonia in this season’s UEFA Conference League, were knocked out by Switzerland’s Lausanne FC in the second preliminary round, but the new additions are expected to bolster their push both domestically and in future continental engagements.
