Ugandan international winger Rogers Mato will feature in next season’s UEFA Europa Conference League qualifiers after helping FK Vardar clinch the Macedonian Cup on Wednesday.
Mato, who came off the bench in the 72nd minute, played a key role as Vardar secured a 2-0 victory over Struga in the cup final. The win not only earned the club silverware but also booked them a place in European competition for the 2025/26 season.
The dynamic forward has had a noteworthy campaign in North Macedonia, representing two top-tier sides over the season. He began with Brera Strumica, where he made 19 appearances, netting three goals and providing four assists.
A mid-season move to FK Vardar revitalized his form further, he has since tallied six goals and one assist in just 14 appearances, showcasing his growth and importance in the final third.
Mato's energetic performances and knack for goal have made him a standout figure in the Macedonian First League. His impact at Vardar has been especially influential, culminating in the team’s cup success and a promising return to European football.
With continental football on the horizon, the former Proline FC and KCCA FC player will be looking to carry his strong form into the qualifiers and make a mark for both club and country.
