Ghana captain Jordan Ayew has reacted to the fine display that saw them beat Trinidad and Tobago to the bronze medal in the 2025 Unity Cup.

Ayew registered the first goal early in the game, opening the door for Razak Simpson and Mohammed Fuseini to chalk their debut goals for a 3-0 first half score line.

The Leicester City forward said: “We approached the game really well. We made the game look simple but it wasn’t simple but the players did well, the young players really did well… some of them really took their opportunities and I’m happy for them."

“They just need to keep pushing and keep believing in themselves and keep putting in performances like this.” he said.

Lawrence Agyekum, who recently made his move to Belgium club Cercle Brugge permanent, nailed the Soca Warriors' coffin after finishing from Gideon Mensah’s assist in the 57th minute to end the game at 4-0.

The result earned the four-time African champions bronze after missing out on the finals with a 2-1 loss against Nigeria in the opening semifinal game.

The Black Stars have two 2026 FIFA World Cup duels against Chad and Mali in September and the Unity Cup was an exercise to shape up for the impending assignment.
