Egypt international Mohammed Salah continued with his fine run of form with the Premier League outfit after he found the back of the net in the 2-1 victory against Lille in a UEFA Champions League fixture at Anfield on Tuesday.

The Reds took a first-half lead via Salah’s well-placed effort, though they found themselves level after the hour after Lille netted through Jonathan David following Aissa Mandi’s dismissal.

Harvey Elliott, however, had the final say in the game as his deflected strike earned Arne Slot’s men the points and qualification for the last 16 of the tournament.

By scoring against the Ligue 1 outfit, the former AS Roma and Chelsea player became the first in the club's history to reach a half-century of strikes in Europe. It was Salah’s 50th goal in Europe for Liverpool - with 44 coming in the Champions League, five in last season's Europa League and one in Champions League qualifying.

His latest strike extended his record as the club’s leading European goalscorer and he has now scored 20 Champions League goals at Anfield.

The goal against Lille was his 22nd goal of the season, while he has managed 17 assists. He is currently on 233 Liverpool goals, just eight shy of Gordon Hodgson, who is third in the Reds’ list of all-time top scorers.
