KCCA FC tightened their grip at the summit of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League after edging Buhimba United 1–0 in a closely fought encounter at the Phillip Omondi Stadium on Tuesday.
With clear chances at a premium in the opening exchanges, both sides tested each other cautiously. Lazaro Muhindo nearly broke the deadlock early on, his fierce long-range attempt narrowly clearing the crossbar.
The decisive moment arrived in the 27th minute when Rogers Mugisha reacted quickest to slot home from close range after Buhimba goalkeeper Jamil Kiyimba failed to hold Herbert Achayi’s driven effort.
Buhimba United returned from the break with renewed intent and pushed hard for an equaliser. Their best opportunity came in the 57th minute, when Anwar Ntege’s bouncing header forced a sharp save from KCCA custodian Anthony Emojong.
KCCA later regained control through timely midfield adjustments and showed composure to see out the result.
The victory stretched the Kasasiro Boys’ lead at the top to five points, taking them to 26 points from 11 matches.
Elsewhere in Njeru, Police FC continued their impressive run with a 3–1 away victory over BUL. Bedia Ikamba struck early to hand Police the advantage before Abdul Karim Ndugwa restored parity for the hosts.
However, second-half goals from Daniel Jakony and Brian Obedi settled the contest, propelling Police to 21 points and into the top three.
Meanwhile in Bombo, UPDF FC and NEC FC shared the spoils in a goalless draw. The stalemate kept NEC comfortably in mid-table, while UPDF remained searching for momentum in the lower.
