URA FC return to action on Thursday night at Nakivubo, aiming to build on their thrilling 7–3 victory over Buhimba United Saints as interim coach Edward Golola gears up for his second game in charge.
Despite the perfect start to his tenure, Golola will have to navigate a tricky evening without four important squad members. Midfielders Joshua Lubwama and Joseph Ssemujju, together with goalkeeper Abdul Magada, remain sidelined with injuries, while George Masembe misses out due to card accumulation.
Even with the setbacks, the Tax Collectors will hope that the firepower shown in their last outing continues. Former Kitara forward Fred Amaku, fresh from a superb hat-trick, will once again be central to URA’s attacking efforts alongside captain Nelson Senkatuka.
URA sit seventh on the log with 11 points from eight matches and will be eager to climb further with a win in front of their home fans.
Kitara FC arrive in Kampala in excellent form, having won back-to-back games against BUL FC (1–0) and Police FC (2–1). Key performers Jimmy Kalema, who has enjoyed an impressive start to life in the top flight, and striker Patrick Kaddu will be vital to Wasswa Bbosa’s plan as they seek a third successive victory.
The Royals currently occupy sixth place on 13 points from seven games, and a positive result would keep them firmly within the chasing pack.
The last meeting at Nakivubo went URA’s way, with goals from Shariph Kimbowa and Ivan Ahimbisibwe sealing a 2–0 win. The Tax Collectors will hope history repeats itself despite their injury woes when the floodlights come on this Thursday.
