Waiswa joins the Tax Collectors as a free agent following the expiry of his contract at Vipers SC in January this year.
The Kitende-based side opted not to extend his stay, bringing an end to a brief second stint with the club that began after his departure from KCCA FC in January 2024.
The midfielder has agreed to a two-year employment contract with URA FC, as the club looks to inject experience and composure into its midfield ahead of the second round of the 2025/26 Uganda Premier League season.
The Uganda Cranes midfielder brings with him a wealth of experience, having previously spent three seasons in South Africa with SuperSport United before returning home to feature for KCCA FC.
His career has also seen him enjoy two separate spells at Vipers, including one that ended at the start of the 2018/19 season.
URA FC are also expected to unveil two more signings next week. Left back Disan Galiwango is set to return to the Uganda Premier League after over two years in Tanzania, while midfielder Rahmat Senfuka is also poised to be announced as part of the club’s mid-season reinforcement drive.
The Tax Collectors endured a difficult first round, finishing 12th on the log with 13 points, just one above the relegation zone.
With Waiswa’s experience and the anticipated additions of Galiwango and Senfuka, URA FC will be hoping for a strong turnaround in the business end of the season.
