URA FC has confirmed the return of forward Bruno Bunyaga, who is back with the Tax Collectors after a brief but productive stay in the United States, where he combined football and academics at James Madison University in Harrisonburg.
The club made the announcement on Sunday, December 7, 2025, noting that Bunyaga has been away for three months—having left in August to take up the opportunity with full permission from URA.
According to the club, Bunyaga’s move was fully sanctioned: “The club had been aware of Bunyaga’s program and granted him the green light to pursue it,” URA revealed, adding that the striker has now successfully completed his short stint and returned to Uganda.
Upon his arrival, the player immediately rejoined the URA FC setup and has been part of training for the past couple of weeks as he works toward complete reintegration into Alex Isabirye’s squad.
Before traveling to the USA, the forward extended his stay with URA FC until 2027, underlining his long-term commitment to the club. He was also fully licensed for the current StarTimes Uganda Premier League season and is now awaiting license reactivation by FUFA before becoming eligible for match selection.
The attacker’s return arrives at a crucial moment for the Tax Collectors, providing an added spark and depth to their frontline, which already boasts Nelson Senkatuka, Fred Amaku, and rising teenage prospect Denis Kisiriko.
His comeback is expected to strengthen URA FC’s attacking setup as the club pushes to improve their offensive output in the ongoing campaign.
