Vipers SC have captured forward Usama Arafat Kizza, who joins the Venoms on a three-year contract after running down his deal at KCCA FC.
The speedy attacker had been on the radar of several clubs, with South African outfits TS Galaxy and Durban City also expressing interest. However, Vipers beat off competition to secure his signature ahead of the new season.
KCCA FC had made efforts to convince Usama to extend his stay for at least two more years, but the winger opted for a new challenge in Kitende. His move also marks a return to familiar territory, having previously studied at St Mary’s Secondary School Kitende (SMASK), a traditional feeder for Vipers SC’s senior team.
Before joining KCCA FC in 2021 from Kajjansi United, Usama also featured for Mbale Tigers and CRO FC in the lower divisions. At Lugogo, he completed a three-year stint where he established himself as one of the most promising young attackers in Ugandan football.
On the international stage, Usama was part of the Uganda Cranes CHAN squad that reached the quarterfinals in East Africa, though he largely featured as a substitute in his tournament appearances.
His arrival adds to Vipers’ growing list of new signings that includes Robin Kane Hney, Mark Yallah, Taddeo Lwanga, Odili Chukwuma, Kevin Dasylva Bady, Ashraf Mandela, and Enock Ssebaggala.
