Valencia reopen negotiations for Umar Sadiq

Spanish side Valencia CF have reportedly reignited their pursuit of Real Sociedad striker Umar Sadiq after a previously failed attempt to secure his services on a permanent basis following a successful loan at Valencia.

.

According to reports from Spanish newspaper Marca, Valencia has presented a renewed offer to Real Sociedad. This time, the proposal is a loan deal with Valencia offering to cover 100% of the player’s salary for the duration of the loan, in addition to an upfront loan fee.

The move for the Nigerian comes on the heels of his successful loan spell at the Mestalla during the second half of last season, where he made a significant impact in the club’s battle to avoid relegation.

Valencia reportedly had a purchase option but decided not to activate it due to Real Sociedad’s high asking price. However, Umar’s impressive form, scoring five goals in sixteen La Liga appearances, has convinced the Valencia management led by coach Carlos Corberán that his return is essential to bolster their attack for the upcoming season.

Real Sociedad are open to the transfer but not for free, and the deal could be closed if Valencia increased their offer to around €1.5 million. Sadiq initially moved to Real Sociedad in 2022 and has been unable to secure a consistent place in their first team.
