Uganda Premier League giants Vipers SC have bolstered their attacking options with the acquisition of Nigerian winger Odili Chukwuma, who joins the club on a two-year deal from Rwanda Premier League side Police FC.
Chukwuma becomes the fourth addition to the Venoms’ squad this transfer window, following the arrivals of Liberian forward Mark Yallah, Congolese defender Kevin Dasylva Bady, and Ugandan midfielder Enock Ssebaggala, as the club’s technical bench led by Fred Muhumuza and John ‘Ayala’ Luyinda continues to shape a formidable unit ahead of the new season.
“I’ve always heard about Vipers SC, and now that I’m finally here, I’m truly excited,” Chukwuma told the club website. “By God’s grace, we’ll achieve great things together. I promise to give my all for this club.”
The 2023/24 season saw Chukwuma play a vital role in Police FC’s campaign, helping the Rwandan outfit secure a commendable fourth-place finish with 45 points. His personal contribution included eight assists and five goals—numbers that reflect both creativity and consistency on the flanks.
Before his stint at Police FC, the Nigerian speedster featured for Bugesera FC, also in Rwanda’s top tier, where he made a name for himself as a versatile and hardworking wide player.
With his flair, vision, and attacking instinct, Chukwuma is expected to bring a new dimension to Vipers SC’s offensive play as they aim to reclaim domestic supremacy and make an impact on the continental stage.
