According to Osimhen, his relationship with the club went from good to worse after he started to have issues with president Aurelio De Laurentiis.
“Napoli made fun of me on their own TikTok channel when I missed a penalty. They only did that with me. I received racist chants, some fans even came to my house, so I decided to leave,”said Osimhen in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“Napoli treated me like a dog. I have worked too hard in life to get treated like that.”
He added: “They tried to move me around and treated me like a dog. Go here, go there, do this, do that. I worked hard for my career and I could not accept that.”
On whether Juventus were interested for his services while at Napoli. Osimhen said: “Yes, Juventus wanted me. Juventus are a big club. When Juventus call, you listen. But Napoli did not want to sell me there.”
On his life in Turkey where he plays for Galatasaray, Osimhen explained: “I found a club and a city I love.
“When you arrive in Istanbul, you understand why players fall in love with this club and the people. I have never felt anything like this before.”
Osimhen became the fastest player in Galatasaray history to reach 50 goals, achieving the milestone in just 59 appearances after scoring in a league match against Fatih Karagmürük in the 55th minute, further cementing his status as one of the most prolific forwards ever to wear the club’s colours.
