Nigeria national team superstar Victor Osimhen is highly unlikely to stay with Turkish giants Galatasaray but that did not stop the striker from adding one more goal to his tally in Gala's 2-0 victory over İstanbul Başakşehir on Friday.
Osimhen confirmed one more victory for the Süper Lig champions with a towering header in the 81st minute. Even with Gala using a rotated squad with nothing at stake in the final match of the season, İstanbul Başakşehir could not withstand the hosts' attacking power. Dries Mertens put Galatasaray ahead from the penalty spot in the 17th minute before Osimhen rose up to head in a cross from Kaan Ayhan in the 81st minute.
Osimhen finishes his season as the league's top scorer with 26 goals in 30 league games and 37 goals in 41 games across all competitions, completing a spectacular loan spell from Italian Serie A champions Napoli that earned him the adoration of one of Europe's most demanding groups of supporters.
Now one of the big topics of the summer will be where Osimhen goes with Europe's top clubs in the hunt for a highly in demand striker. Napoli appear eager to cash in on Osimhen while his stock is high with particular interest from English Premier League clubs Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea. However, Juventus and Saudi giants Al-Hilal are also interested.
Of note, Osimhen has a reported €70 million release clause in his contract with Napoli.
