Nigeria defender, Kenneth Omeruo has made a passionate appeal to compatriot, Victor Osimhen to choose Chelsea over Arsenal if the transfer opportunity arises.
Osimhen has been linked with a big money move away from Turkey Super Lig giants Galatasaray where he spent a season’s loan from Italian Serie A club, Napoli.
The former Lille goal poacher has reportedly appeared on the radar of top European clubs including the Chelsea, Arsenal, Juventus and Ligue 1 side PSG but Omeruo, who was formerly on the roster of Chelsea, believes that Osimhen will flourish at the Stamford Bridge.
“Of course Chelsea. Arsenal needs him, but I want him to win trophies,” Omeruo told SportyTV. “Right now he’s the best striker in the world for me,” Omeruo said. “When he was about to go to Galatasaray, we spoke, I told him, they’ll kill you with love.
“In Turkey, the fans make you appreciate, they make you love your job. It’s not just about the club you’re playing. As long as you’re a football player, you’re a star for them.
“I want to see Victor in the Premier League, no doubt. I want to see him there. I want him to conquer the league.”
Osimhen, 26, enjoyed a stellar campaign at Galatasaray, scoring 25 league goals and providing five assists to help the Turkish giants lift their 25th Super Lig title. He also netted a brace in the Turkish Cup final to secure a domestic double — their first since 2019.
