Victor Osimhen stars with a goal and an assist in Galatasaray victory

Galatasaray marched to a routine victory in the Turkish Süper Lig on Sunday with star striker Victor Osimhen providing a goal and an assist in a 4-0 thrashing of Kayserispor.

​The match, played at Rams Park, saw the defending champions take the lead just seven minutes in when Kayserispor defender Aaron Opoku put the ball in the back of his own net. In the 25th minute, a foul was committed in the penalty area and the Nigerian international stepped up and slotted the ball home to ensure a 2-0 lead at the break.

​The hosts continued to press their advantage in the second half. The pressure paid off when Osimhen set up Gabriel Sara to extend the lead to 3-0.

​The Super Eagles star was substituted in the 82nd minute, but the home side wasn’t finished as Mauro Icardi added a fourth from the penalty spot in the final moments of the game.

​The victory keeps the reigning champions at the top of the Süper Lig table with 49 points, six points clear of second-placed Fenerbahçe SK.
