Former Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama has revealed why he is yet to extend his stay at Scottish second-tier club Dunfermline Athletic.
The former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder joined the Scottish club on a short-term contract, which expired at the end of last season. However, Wanyama revealed that talks are underway for a new contract that could see him remain at the club next season.
“They want me to stay on at the club, and I’m thinking about it. I really enjoyed my short stay there because they’re a club with a lot of ambition, and they want to drive into the Premier League,” said Wanyama as quoted by Telecomasia.net.
“I’m considering it and thinking about it, though I’ve yet to make a decision. The club has laid out their plan for the new season, and I’ll take my time to analyze everything before making a final choice. It would be great to continue with them.”
Wanyama, who joined Dunfermline after being released by MLS side CF Montréal last November, made four appearances and helped the team avoid relegation.
