Vipers SC coach Fred Muhumuza has set his sights on completing a remarkable domestic double as his side gears up to face KCCA FC in the Uganda Cup final this Saturday.

Fresh off being crowned Uganda Premier League champions last weekend, Vipers are now turning their attention to one last challenge—a shot at lifting the prestigious Uganda Cup.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference held at FUFA House in Mengo on Wednesday, Muhumuza made it clear that the team’s ambition remains sky-high. “It’s the last game of the season and we don’t take it lightly—it’s a final,” Muhumuza said.

“We know the Uganda Cup is one of the most prestigious titles, and we will give it our all to win another trophy.”

The Kitende-based outfit sealed their seventh league title last Saturday after defeating Bright Stars. The celebrations were immediate and jubilant, with players, staff, and fans joining in a club-organized party outside the stadium.

But despite the festivities, the team quickly shifted its focus. “We’ve had a couple of training sessions at Kitende. Some people thought we would remain in celebration mode, but we’re already back to work, preparing to win on Saturday,”

Muhumuza added. “A club like Vipers always wants to win everything.” This season has marked a turning point for Vipers, flourishing under the new leadership of Muhumuza and his assistant John ‘Ayala’ Luyinda.

In their first season in charge, the duo has guided the club to league success and now stands on the brink of securing a historic double.

With momentum on their side and silverware within reach, Vipers SC heads into Saturday’s final with determination and belief, a team chasing greatness on two fronts.
