Ghana’s chances of qualifying for the 2025 Women Africa Cup of Nations quarterfinals in Morocco is hanging by the thread as they prepare to face Tanzania in the final group C game on Monday.
The Black Queens have one point from two games – losing 2-0 to defending champions South Africa in the opener before settling for a 1-1 draw against Mali in the second match.
A draw or defeat will send the West African nation out of the tournament and Ghana’s, Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah knows the challenge that awaits the team.
“It’s a different game and a lot of talents as well. The heat as well, everyone knows the heat and I am taking it in my stride and I am putting my feet on the ground and we still haven’t seen what I can bring to be honest.
“And hopefully in the game, I will be more settled, I can help the team get to where we want to be, we keep pushing and we see what happens and I say the confidence is very high.”
Ghana needs a big win to stand a remote chance of finishing as one of the best third place teams and the task looks extremely arduous at the moment.
Ghana is yet to win the Women Africa Cup of Nations and exiting the competition will be a blow for the Black Queens under Swedish trainer, Kim Lars Bjorkegren who replaced Nora Hauptle.
