Ivory Coast and Niger joined Nigeria and hosts Ghana in the semifinals of the 2025 WAFU Zone-B U-20 Boys Cup on Thursday after obtaining favorable results in the final round of games from Group B. Les Éléphanteaux recorded victories in all three of their group stage games with a 2-0 result over Togo.
Zakaria Tindao’s header crossed just over the line following a set piece shortly after the hour mark to give the Ivorian selection the lead. A hard low finish from Yaya Tape doubled the advantage for the Ivorians in first half stoppage time as they eliminated their Togolese opponents from the competition.
In the other Group B match played simultaneously, Niger did enough to take advantage of Togo’s defeat with a 0-0 draw against last placed Burkina Faso.
The result confirmed second place for the Menas, who will now face Nigeria in the semifinals. Ivory Coast will face hosts Ghana in the other semifinal with both games set for Sunday.
