Ghana’s quest to host and win the WAFU Zone-B U-17 Women's Cup became brighter following a convincing victory over West African neighbors Ivory Coast.
The Black Maidens whitewashed the Ivorians by 5-0 in the semi finals at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram on Thursday afternoon.
Christiana Ashiaku netted a first half hat trick - her second in the competition after she scored three times in the opening group stage match against Bénin.
The score line remained the same between the two nations moving into the first half break. Back from recess, Ghana remained the most purposeful and stronger of the two - netting two more goals to cement the win.
Zipporah Ayantoyah’s 48th and Seidatu Wahab’s 67th minute goals added to those of the first half to nail the coffin of the Ivorians after full time.

The Black Maidens will now face the winner between Nigeria and Bénin later in the evening in the second semi final game to know their opponent for the finals.
