Walid Regragui linked with Marseille job amid coaching search

Reports have revealed that Walid Regragui, head coach of the Morocco national football team, has received contact from officials at Olympique de Marseille regarding the possibility of taking charge of the French club.

Marseille are currently searching for a new manager following the departure of Roberto De Zerbi last week.

According to Moroccan outlet Al Botola, Marseille officials have reached out to Regragui as they evaluate candidates for the role. The report added that the French club has been monitoring the Moroccan coach since De Zerbi’s tenure, with internal belief in his ability to lead the team.

Despite the reported contact, Regragui remains committed to his position with Morocco for now. The report noted that should Regragui’s departure from the national team become official, his next destination would likely be Marseille.

Regragui’s Record with Morocco amid Marseille links

Regragui has overseen 49 matches with Morocco across all competitions, recording 36 victories and eight draws. He has suffered eight defeats during his tenure.

His most notable achievement came when he guided Morocco to a historic semi-final appearance at the FIFA World Cup, in addition to leading the Atlas Lions to the final of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
