Walter Bwalya joins South African second tier side Cape Town City

DR Congolese striker Walter Bwalya has completed a move to South Africa’s side, Cape Town City for the ongoing second tier season.

The 30-year-old veteran joined the Cape Town based club as a free agent after his departure from Algeria outfit, JS Kabylie.
Walter Bwalya is an experienced continental campaigner having played for Egypt clubs Al Ahly, El Gouna and other top North African clubs like Wydad Athletic Club of Morocco and JS Kabylie of Algeria.

His over a decade’s career has taken him to FC Lubumbashi Sport, Forest Rangers and Nkana FC plus loan spells in Turkey with Yeni Malatyaspor, Al Sailiya of Qatar and Al Qadsiah of Saudi Arabia.

Orbit College defeated Cape Town City by 1-0 in the Premier Soccer League promotional/relegation playoff match at Olympia Park Stadium with Letsie Koapeng’s two minutes goal into the second half qualifying them for the Betway Premiership as the Citizens were relegated to the First National Division.

The former Al Ahly striker is expected to add some bite in the attacking line of Cape Town City who were relegated last season after losing in the play-offs to Orbit College.
