Uganda Cranes defender Geoffrey Wasswa has completed a move to Ethiopian Premier League side Fasil Kenema Sport Club, commonly known as Fasil City.
The versatile defender has signed a two-year employment contract with the Gondar-based club in the Amhara Region.
Wasswa makes the switch after spending the last two seasons at Ethiopian Coffee, where he arrived in 2023 as a free agent following the expiration of his contract at KCCA FC.
Before crossing to Ethiopia, the 26-year-old had featured for some of Uganda’s biggest clubs, including Vipers SC, SC Villa, and KCCA FC. He left Vipers in 2020 for a brief spell with SC Villa, before joining KCCA at the start of the 2021/22 campaign.
During his time at Vipers SC, Wasswa enjoyed notable success, lifting two Uganda Premier League titles and an Uganda Cup. His journey to the senior ranks started at St. Mary’s Kitende, where he graduated from the Junior team to the Vipers senior side in the 2015/16 season.
At Fasil Kenema, Wasswa will be looking to bring his experience and versatility—whether in central defense or midfield—as the club aims to compete strongly in the Ethiopian top flight.
