Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has declared that his new joined team, Besiktas is ready for their UEFA Europa Conference League playoff tie against FC Lausanne-Sport.
The first-leg encounter is set to take place at the Stade de la Tuilière on Thursday night, with the Black Eagles aiming to establish a lead. Speaking to the club’s official website ahead of the crucial away fixture, Ndidi was optimistic about the team’s chances to have a positive outing.
“I think we’re ready. We’re excited; we’ve been training throughout the week. We also have a league match. Tomorrow will be a good match, and I think we’ll perform well.”
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side headed into the game in good form having just defeated Eyupspor 2-1 in their Turkish Super Lig season opener last weekend.
The late-game heroics of Rafa Silva secured a crucial three points, a result that Ndidi himself played a significant role in, making his official club debut and featuring for 70 minutes in the hard-fought win.
The Istanbul side will look to secure a positive result in Switzerland ahead of the second leg which will be held in Istanbul next Thursday.
