Ndidi joined the Black Eagles on a permanent transfer from Sky Bet Championship club Leicester City earlier this month, ending an illustrious eight-and-a-half-year spell with the Foxes where he became a fan favorite and a Premier League stalwart.
The Nigerian international signed a three-year contract with the option of another year. The transfer fee is reported to be in the range of €8 million to €9.5 million.
The 28-year-old was named among the substitutes in Besiktas’ UEFA Europa Conference League qualifying tie against St Patrick’s Athletic in midweek. While he didn’t feature in that match, Besiktas won 3-2 to secure a 5-2 aggregate victory and a spot in the playoffs.
Ndidi’s experience will be vital for a Besiktas’ side that will hoping to wrestle the title from Galatasaray this season.
His debut against Eyupspor, a newly promoted side, will be an ideal opportunity for Ndidi to get his first taste of Turkish football and demonstrate the qualities that made him one of the most respected defensive midfielders in England.
