Ivorian star Wilfried Singo says he remains optimistic that Galatasaray FC can bounce back from their latest setback and grab the 2026 Turkish Süper Lig title.
The defender made the remarks in a reaction to their 2-1 loss to Andre Onana’s Trabzonspor FC in Saturday’s Süper Lig top-of-the-table clash. The 25-year-old scored the visitors’ consolation goal.

Speaking to the club’s media, Singo urged Galatasaray FC team-mates to bounce back from the away defeat and focus on the remaining fixtures.
“We came to win, we wanted to win, but we couldn’t do it,” said the defender. “We need to start with our heads held high. We will concentrate and prepare for the next match. We can have good matches. We will prepare for the future. Everything is in our hands. We will continue accordingly.”
After the game, Galatasaray FC coach Okan Buruk accused Onana of time-wasting in the top-of-the table clash, saying this broke the rhythm of the match.
Buruk also rued the absence of key players, including Nigerian striker Victor Osmihen, during the match.
“Of course, the absence of some players can affect the game,” the coach said “This is seen in many teams. Although the players try to show the same concentration and desire, the absence of some names can change the flow of the game.
“The lack of players who play all the time can be felt. For example, Mauro Icardi has not received regular playing time for a long time; This can be effective in terms of rhythm.
However, all our players tried to fight at the highest level. Sometimes what you want is not reflected on the field. A game structure where we can bring more balls to the striker will make us more dangerous in attack. As you said, some players can play a more critical role for the team.”
Goals from the Nigerians Paul Onuachu and Chibuike Nwaiwu saw Trabzonspor secure the victory over Galatasaray at Papara Park.
Trabzonspor jumped to second place with 63 points after having played one game more, while Galatasaray FC remain top of the table with 64 points from 27 games.
