Wisdom Mpinganjira signs for Mozambique’s Black Bulls FC

Malawi league holders Mighty Wanderers FC have loaned out their playmaker Wisdom Mpinganjira to Mozambique Football League side, Associação Black Bulls FC.

In a statement, the TNM Super League champions confirmed the exit of the energetic winger to join the neighbouring country’s CAF Champions League representatives.

“Mighty Wanderers FC wishes Wisdom Mpinganjira all the best as he joins Associacao Black Bulls on a 10-month loan deal. The club is proud of this arrangement, and we hope it becomes a stepping stone to greater exploits for the player,” reads the statement.

How Black Bulls have welcomed the new arrival

Black Bulls ended the 2025 Mozambique Premier League campaign without silverware and narrowly lost the Mozambique Cup final to UD Songo, falling 5-4 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in regulation time in Gaza Province.

The club also failed to defend their domestic league title, which was claimed by UD Songo, and exited the CAF Champions League in the second preliminary round after defeat to Nigeria’s Rivers United.

Additionally, Black Bulls missed out on the Maputo City Opening Tournament, further compounding a disappointing campaign.

The three-time Mozambique Football League champions have since welcomed the new addition to the squad, describing the Flames star “as young, ambitious and impactfull in the offensive game.”

Black Bulls statement adds: “Wisdom comes to grow, compete and leave a mark.”

Wisdom Mpinganjira, whose father Bob Mpinganjira is Wanderers’ coach, had his best season in 2024-2025. He will now start a new lease of life with the team which Portuguese Nelson Santos coaches.

The left-winger-cum wing-back also cemented his place in Malawi senior national team. However, he struggled for regular action in the late stages of last season after suffering a serious injury.

Capped 22 times, the winger extended his contract with the TNM Super League champions by three years last year.

Who else has parted ways with Mighty Wanderers?

Wisdom Mpinganjira has joined another winger Vitumbiko Kumwenda in leaving the Nomads after limited game-time last season largely due to injuries.

Meanwhile, the Nomads have since signed forward Lameck Mithi from Moyale Barracks, a move the club says ‘will strengthen his attacking options ahead of the 2026/27 season.’

Speaking to the Blantyre-based club’s media, Bob Mpinganjira described the 20-year-old as a gem.

“It’s a good signing. I have watched him play, and I’m convinced he will add value to the squad. He is young and fits perfectly within our sustainability plans,” the coach said.

Mithi has since described his switch to the TNM Super League champions as a dream come true.

“I started my career with Vuwa Academy Under-14, then joined Ascent Academy before moving to Moyale Barracks. Now, just a year later, I have signed for a big club like Wanderers, it’s truly a dream come true. I hope to work hard and go beyond Malawi,” Mithi told Wanderers’ media.

Mighty Wanderers FC Loan Out Wisdom Mpinganjira to Associação Black Bulls FC in Strategic Move

Malawi TNM Super League champions Mighty Wanderers FC have confirmed the loan departure of their talented playmaker, Wisdom Mpinganjira, to Mozambican top-flight side Associação Black Bulls FC. The 10-month loan deal will see the energetic winger ply his trade in the Mozambique Football League as Black Bulls prepare for both domestic and continental assignments.

In an official statement, the Blantyre-based club expressed confidence that the move would benefit both the player and the team.

“Mighty Wanderers FC wishes Wisdom Mpinganjira all the best as he joins Associacao Black Bulls on a 10-month loan deal. The club is proud of this arrangement, and we hope it becomes a stepping stone to greater exploits for the player.”

A Fresh Chapter in Mozambique

Black Bulls, who are among Mozambique’s most competitive sides in recent years, endured a challenging 2025 campaign. The three-time Mozambique Football League champions finished the season without silverware, narrowly losing the Mozambique Cup final to UD Songo on penalties after a 1-1 draw in regulation time in Gaza Province.
