Women's Africa Cup of Nations: Hosts Morocco in same group as Zambia

The draw for the 2024 Africa Women's Cup of Nations was completed Friday evening in Salé, Morocco with 12 teams divided into 3 groups.

The competition will take place in Morocco next July and the most enticing match of the group stage appears to be when the hosts will face the Copper Queens of Zambia. Defending champions South Africa were drawn with Ghana, Mali and Tanzania in Group C while Nigeria will take on Tunisia, Algeria and Botswana.

Below are the results from Friday's draw:

Group A: Morocco, Zambia, Senegal and DR Congo

Group B: Nigeria, Tunisia, Algeria and Botswana

Group C: South Africa, Ghana, Mali and Tanzania

The opening match will take place on July 5.
