Ahead of the Nigeria national team’s upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying games against Lesotho and Benin, eighteen Super Eagles players arrived to their camp in Polokwane, South Africa.

This was confirmed via the Super Eagles social media on Tuesday as members of the coaching staff welcomed the players in South Africa, where they will trade tackles against the Likuena (Crocodiles) of Lesotho at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Friday.

Eric Chelle’s side had opened camp in Polokwane on Monday for the crucial matches.

Captain William Troost-Ekong, Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen and Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman have arrived as well as the defender trio of Benjamin Fredrick, Calvin Bassey and Semi Ajayi.

The Super Eagles will held their first official training session on Tuesday night.

Nigeria are currently third place in Group C and only three points off first placed Benin and second-placed South Africa. For them to qualify for the 2026 World Cup, they must win their next two fixtures to stand a chance.
