World Cup (Q): Adams ready to give all for Nigeria’s final push

Nigeria forward Akor Adams expressed that he would give his best for the Super Eagles if given the opportunity to feature in upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Benin.

The striker, whose recent performances for Sevilla have caught the eyes of Eric Chelle for a first senior national team call up, firmly believes he doesn’t need an extended period to integrate into the national squad.

Adams shared his thoughts in a video posted on the Super Eagles Instagram page while reacting to his maiden call.

“I don’t think there is a breaking in, personally. I just have to give what I can for the team. In general, whoever’s playing, we give support. And if you’re called upon by the coach, you do your best.”

“There are a couple of guys that I’m in touch with, but I’m looking forward to making more relationships, and also better friendships.”

The 25-year-old former Lillestrom striker was called up by coach Chelle six years after he represented Nigeria at the 2019 U-20 World Cup.

Last weekend, Adams scored in consecutive La Liga matches for Sevilla, including a notable goal against Spanish giants Barcelona.
