World Cup (Q): Kamaldeen Sulemana basks in debut Ghana goal

Ghana winger Kamaldeen Sulemana has been left on cloud nine after bagging his first international goal.

The Atalanta forward registered a goal for the Black Stars who pummeled Central African Republic by 5-0 in the penultimate 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in Morocco.

Sulemana who made his debut for the Black Stars on October 9, 2020, joined the fray in the 76th minute and struck in the 87th, capping off the team’s dominant display.

Speaking at the end of the match, Kamaldeen Sulemana expressed his excitement over his debut Ghana goal.

Sulemana eyes more after debut goal

“I really appreciate the support from Ghanaians. This is my first goal, and it means a lot to me. There’s more to come,” Sulemana said.

Ghana’s huge 5-0 win against Central African Republic means the Black Stars maintain their top spot in Group I with 22 points, heading into their last match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Comoros on Sunday, October 12.

Ghana is on the verge of booking a spot at next year’s World Cup to be hosted by Mexico, Canada, and the USA.

The four time African champions will next host Comoros in the final qualifiers at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday October 12.
