World Cup (Q): Kenya run riot at Kasarani against Seychelles

Kenya trounced Seychelles 5-0 in Tuesday’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match at the Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi. The Harambee Stars ran riot on home turf against a hapless Seychellois side to register a big win under head coach Benni McCarthy.

The Group F encounter saw a dominant display from Kenya as they claimed a huge victory. Kenya went 4-0 up in the first half with an obvious gulf in quality between the two nations. Ryan Ogam and Collins Sichenje headed home from two identical free kicks delivered by Duke Abuya. Ogam completed his brace before team captain Michael Olunga scored from the spot to make it four.

After the interval, the home side continued to pile on the pressure. Olunga headed in the fifth from close range as Kenya registered a lopsided win over Seychelles. Despite the result, the Harambee Stars are officially out of the picture to qualify for the World Cup finals as they sit fourth with nine points, one shy of Burundi in a group dominated by Ivory Coast and Gabon. Ivory Coast, ahead by one point, face Gabon away in Libreville later on Tuesday.

Winless Seychelles are bottom with zero points. They conceded 39 goals across the eight games as Ralph Jean Louis’s charges endured a World Cup qualifying campaign to forget.
