Head coach of Mali, Tom Sainfiet has reacted to their crucial Group I 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Ghana.
The Eagles will be as guests of the Black Stars at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday September 8 in match day 8.
Mali come into the encounter from a convincing 2-0 home win over Comoros with Ghana held in Chad to a 1-1 draw in fixture number 7.
The experienced Belgian trainer expressed confidence in Mali chances against the four time African champions.
“Ghana is the best team in our group. They are 4 points ahead of us, but we are here to make history and win here,” he said.
“We will make everything possible to qualify for the World Cup,” he added.
Mali currently sit third in Group I on 12 points same as Comoros with Madagascar on 13 points. Ghana lead the table on 16 points from eight matches seven qualifying matches played. The fixture kicks off at 19:00 GMT at the Accra Sports Stadium.
